🏝️Getting to Tinos

There are two main alternatives to getting to the island if you are travelling from abroad; (i) fly to Athens and then hop on a ferry from the port of Rafina (recommended) or the port of Pireaus, or (ii) fly to Mykonos and then take the ferry to Tinos.

As getting around in Tinos comfortably requires a car, keep in mind that if you plan to spend a few more days in Greece, it might just make sense to rent a car from Athens airport to get you around and back.

✈️ Flying to Tinos

There is no airport on the island of Tinos. The closest one is located in Mykonos. Mykonos International Airport connects the island with Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" and Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia". The airport also serves flights to and from European countries. You can find further information about flight schedules, tickets and timetables on www.jmk-airport.gr.

You can easily reach Tinos by ferry from Mykonos port. The route lasts 30 minutes. Mykonos International Airport is located 4 km away from Mykonos Town.

🛳️ Ferries to Tinos

You can easily reach Tinos within 4-5 hours either from the port of Piraeus or from Rafina port. Piraeus port is located closer to the city center, while Rafina port is spotted closer to Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos".

Tinos is also connected with Andros, Mykonos and Syros.

🚗 Getting around in Tinos

We highly recommend the use of a car to get around and discover the beauties of the island. Granted this is still tourist season, please consider booking rental cars in advance. Alternatively, you could rent from Athens and bring the car over with the ferry. There is also a bus connection (KTEL) in some of the central parts of the island, but we would suggest you avoid it.
